Working breeds – championship

Slovak Championship for Working Breeds – simpler than most people think! (but only if the dog has a valid working test — this is the key requirement!)

Many exhibitors don’t realize that working breeds have slightly different requirements for the Slovak Beauty Champion title compared to non-working breeds.

Here it is clearly and simply:

What is a “working breed”?

➡️ A breed for which the FCI requires a working test as a condition for the C.I.B. (International Beauty Champion) title.
This includes breeds with natural working ability: service, herding, guarding and many hunting breeds.

The crucial requirement is:
👉 having a valid Working Certificate
(and this is often the hardest part of the entire process)

Requirements for the Slovak Champion title – Working Breeds:

  • 2 × CAC (instead of 4 × CAC required for non-working breeds)
  • from two different show seasons
  • under two different judges
  • at least one CAC must be from an International show (CACIB)
  • the dog must have a valid Working Certificate
  • resCAC cannot replace CAC
  • CACs cannot be used for other championships
  • a Working Certificate must be attached to the application

Why is this important?

Many exhibitors assume that working breeds also need 4 × CAC like all others. But in reality — if the dog has a valid working certificate — only 2 × CAC in two seasons are required.

And that’s why the Nitradog Christmas Cup (4 shows in December) can be a perfect opportunity to complete what’s missing — whether you already have 1 CAC from a previous season, or you are just starting to collect CACs for the working-breed version of the Slovak Champion title.
